The FDA has now recommended that parents do not use over-the-counter medications to children under the age of 4 because evidence has suggested that such medications do not work on young children. In many cases these medications are said to actually have negative effects.
So to help infants and small children stay healthy throughout the long Michigan winters it is recommended to feed children foods such as whole grains, dark greens and antioxidant rich fruits (blueberries) are suggested to help fight off potential illness. A perfect example would be to serve whole-grain cereal with blueberries for breakfast. Courtesy of ARAcontent of the Lexington Clipper-Herald.
